Objection Handling

VVantera Editorial5 min readUpdated May 30, 2026

Definition

Objection handling is the skill of surfacing, understanding, and addressing a prospect's concerns — about price, timing, trust, or need — so a deal can progress. Done well, it's a diagnostic conversation, not a rebuttal contest: you validate the concern, explore what's behind it, and reframe.

Why it matters

Most objections are unspoken until late. Inviting them early and handling them with empathy is what separates deals that close from deals that quietly disappear.
